PM VISITS ECONOMIC FREE ZONE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In a scope of his working tour to the eastern aimags, the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag got acquainted Thursday with a construction course of the "Zamyn-Uud" economic free zone. The Premier told Zamyn-Uud soum's authorities to intensify the free-zone's works, reminding them that the 2013's state budget had approved MNT 4.1 billion for this free zone. The money will also be spent for conducting an exploration of water source in Zamyn-Uud soum, working out construction graphics of infrastructure and constructions, and for installing a neccesary facilities with 150 tons capacity at the checkpoint. In 2008, a list of projects to be implemented with a soft-loan from China's government involved the "Zamyn-Uud" economic free zone. A sum of the project's cost was USD 58.8 million. A contract was established between the government of Mongolia and the Export-Import Bank of China to finance the project with USD 50 million, the rest was allotted by Mongolia's government. Nonetheless, the construction had been too slow until spring of 2012. For the time being, works are underway to put in to use this year a thermal station, heating pipelines, and a water purification plant. B.Khuder
