PARLIAMENTARY AUTUMN SESSION CLOSES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first autumn session of parliament, formed after the 2012 parliamentary elections, adjourned on Friday. The Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold said this session successfully discussed and then solved the issues planned. The MPS ran 33 plenary meetings within 93 working days, the Standing committees and sub-committees meetings were held 131 times, he said. The session adopted 68 laws, three Conventions, 16 drafts on annulment and 59 parliamentary resolutions, made some vital decisions, for example, adopted the 2013 state budget and the fiscal policy, approved a resolution on allowing the cabinet to issue governmental bonds of USD 5 billion, and now the bonds of 1.5 billion US dollars have been sold and the money are to be used for the biggest works of great construction. The adopted are also a draft amendment to the law on the Presidential election and draft amendments to the laws on savings insurance, on customs and on regulation of street addresses. Some events happened during the autumn session, for example, U.Khurelsukh from the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) left an MP seat--first ever time time in the parliamentary history of Mongolia, being replaced by D.Sarangerel; Ms D.Arvin was re-elected as an MP--for the fourth time--at the constituency of Bayanzurkh district during the elections of the Citizens' Representative Khural of aimags, soums and the city's districts, and later she joined the Democratic Party (DP), he noted.
