Parents of a Georgian girl killed at Utoya demand trial be held at European court

Georgia, Tbilisi, March 9 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/ Parents of a Georgian girl Tamta Liparteliani, who was killed during a terrorist attack on the island of Utoya, have demanded the case be transferred to the court of the European Union. As Leila Asatiani, mother of the girl told reporters the Norwegian court system is too lenient to issue a 'decent' punishment to Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people. "This man deserves a life sentence and so we want this case to be the case to be considered by the EU court on terrorism charges. Moreover, we have arguments, as there are foreigners among the dead, not just the Norwegians," Asatiani said. Avtandil Liparteliani, the father of the girl said the trial will begin in Norway on April 14 and he was invited to attend. Breivik was yesterday charged with premeditated murder, the implementation of the attack and trying to destabilise the situation in the country. The maximum penalty will be 21 years of imprisonment in the event of a conviction. Breivik has admitted detonating a bomb in a government district of Oslo that killed eight people on July 22, then shooting dead 69 at a Labour Party summer camp on an island near the capital, but does not consider himself guilty.
