Pakistani Red Crescent Aid Society extends help to earthquake victims in Van

ISLAMABAD (A.A) - November 17, 2011 - Pakistani Red Crescent Aid Society has extended 100,000 USD as assistance to the earthquake victims in eastern province of Van.
President of the Pakistani Red Crescent, Shery Rahman, presented the aid check to the Turkish Ambassador in Islamabad Babur Hizlan.
"The people of Pakistan were deeply saddened by the earthquake in Van. We share the pain of our Turkish brothers and sisters. With our symbolic assistance, we wanted to show that we are with the earthquake victims," Rahman said.
Reminding that Turkey was the first country to offer assistance in 2005 when a powerful earthquake hit Kashmir killing 76,000 people, Rahman said that they were always grateful to the Turkish government and people.
Ambassador Hizlan said that he was thankful to the brotherly people of Pakistan for being with Turkey in tough days.
The government of the Punjab state in Pakistan extended an aid of 1 million USD to the earthquake victims in Van last week.
