PACE delegation arrives in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, September 23/Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/ The delegation of Parliamentary Assembly of European Council (PACE) arrived in Georgian on Monday. The delegation includes MPs: Meriksel Mateu Pi, Andres Hergel, John Tomlinson, Christopher Chop, Vasily Likhachev and Boris Silevich. The PACE MPs which arrived in Tbilisi said that they are intending to become familiar with the pre-election situation in Georgia and to hold meetings at various levels with this aim, as well as to assess the pre-election situation in the country. On September 23 the members of the delegation will meet with the Head of the Council of Europe in Georgia Caterina Bolognese. Then they will hold meetings with the representatives of civil society, media, diplomatic corps, as well as with the head of OSCE observation mission Matteo Mecacci. On September 24 the parliamentary delegation of the European Council will meet with the chairman of Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) Tamar Zhvania, Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili. On September 25 there are planned meetings with presidential candidates David Barkadze, Nino Burjanadze, George Margvelashvili, Shalva Natelashvili and Giorgi Targamadze. On the same day the delegation will hold a meeting in Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, meetings with Giga Bokeria, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia and the Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani are planned.
