Over 230 people killed in Syria’s clashes within one day

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 28 / Trend A. Taghiyeva / At least 234 people were killed in the clashes between the Free Syrian Army and government forces over the past day, Al Jazeera TV channel said today. Among the dead are women and children. Most of them are residents of Damascus and Aleppo. Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for about 17 months. According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000 people. More than 230,000 people became refugees. About three million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say that they oppose the well-armed militants. Do you have any feedback?
