New Afghan ambassador presented copies of credentials to Kyrgyz FM

The press service of the Foreign Ministry reported that Ambassador of Afghanistan Vaziri presented copies of his credentials. The ambassador congratulated Minister Kazakbaev and the Kyrgyz people on the successful holding of the presidential elections, which demonstrated the spirit of unity of the Kyrgyz people. During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the development of Kyrgyz-Afghan relations. In particular, the need to increase the level of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as to ensure regional security, joint activities against religious extremism and international terrorism. Kazakbaev stressed the need to take joint measures with the Afghan side aimed at improving the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz in the Pamirs. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of infrastructure and social projects, the need to build schools, roads and hospitals in places of compact residence of ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan. Expressing gratitude to the Afghan side for the support provided to Kyrgyzstan in the course of recent political events, Kazakbaev noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has always actively supported the democratic reforms achieved by the Afghan government over the past decades, primarily in the early achievement of peace in the Islamic Republic. Afghanistan. The foreign minister invited the ambassador to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, and also proposed to organize an official visit to Kyrgyzstan of President Ashraf Ghani this year, the results of which will undoubtedly serve to promote Kyrgyz-Afghan cooperation in all directions. In turn, the Afghan ambassador supported the proposals of the Kyrgyz side and assured that he would make every effort to successfully implement all the spectrum of measures that would help raise Kyrgyz-Afghan relations to a higher level.
