BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) -- Myanmar armed forces commander-in-chief Sen-Gen Min Aung Hlaing paid respect to late Gen Prem Tinsulanonda at Wat Benchamabophit and also recalled his memorable moments with Gen Prem. The Myanmar armed forces chief first visited the Privy Council Chambers to sign his name in a book for the remembrance of Gen Prem. There Sen-Gen Min Aung Hliang said that he had first met Gen Prem in 2012 after becoming the Myanmar armed forces chief. That was when he visited the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and in the same trip, he also called on Gen Prem, he said. Both had good feelings toward each other and Gen Prem always warmly shared with him good experiences and advice in every meeting. Gen Prem emphasized the importance of contribution and devotions to ones’ motherland and poverty reduction, Sen-Gen Min Aung Hliang said. He also said that he considered Gen Prem as his father. Gen Prem was closely as old as his biological father and he met Gen Prem a decade after his own father had passed away, the Myanmar armed forces chief said.
