Mutlag, Salihi discuss regional changes, water cessation, and border control

Baghdad (NINA) - Deputy Prime Minister, Salih Al Mutlag, discussed today with Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salihi, "the problems and political changes taking place in a number of regional countries, Iraq's relations with neighboring countries, the importance of Iraq’s enjoying security and stability, and the positive impact of that on the region in general." Mutlag concentrated, according to a statement issued by his office, on the importance of a strong and stable Iraq, especially after the US withdrawal, looking forward to new relationships with the Iranian side based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs, the file of bombing villages and cities of Iraqi Kurdistan region, in addition to the border control between the two neighboring countries, and the negative effects on agriculture as a result of rivers cessation coming from Iranian territories. In the political affairs, Mutlag said that "the Iraqi people hopes from its government to achieve genuine national partnership that preserves the dignity of all its citizens," emphasizing his quest to achieve this and reject external concepts and controversies that entered Iraq after the US occupation. For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his happiness to meet with Mutlag, asking him to visit Iran. He expressed his country's keenness to support Iraq in order to reach political, economic and security stability. /End/
