Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Energy is continuing his working visit to Austria by invitation of Reinhold Mitterlehner, the Federal Minister of Economy, Family and Youth. On Friday, the Minister and accompanying him officials legged the Austrian National Council (ANC) and met with Wolfgang Katzian, a member of ANC, to discuss present level of the bilateral cooperation and its future. Mr Katzian emphasized that his country plays a main role in the industry of renewable energy and hydro power station, and added Austria is paying special attention to production of solar and wind energy. In response, the Minister underlined the Mongolian economic is intensively growing recent years, and the mining sector is playing a main role in this growth, adding that the energy consumption has gone up by 8-10 percent. In order to abolish a lack of energy, the government of Mongolia is taking a specific measure for creating a new source of energy, he said. Within the visit, the Minister has got acquainted with a station which produces electricity by processing waste, located in Vienna.
