MPS TO PARTICIPATE IN IPU ASSEMBLY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by a Vice Speaker of parliament S.Bayartsogt will participate in the 128th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). In the action which will run March 22-27 in Quito, Ecuador, will take part D.Demberel, S.Byambatsogt, G.Uyanga and L.Erdenechimeg MPs. The assembly is to have a key motto "From unrelenting growth to purposeful development 'Buen Vivir': New approaches, new solutions" and run several discussions, seminars and other measures. Other discussions with a participation of parliamentarians will be held under topics "Enforcing the responsibility to protect: The role of parliament in safeguarding civilians' lives", "Fair trade and innovative financing mechanisms for sustainable development" and "The use of media, including social media, to enhance citizen engagement and democracy". Our women MPs G.Uyanga and L.Erdenechimeg will take part in the 18th Meeting of Women Parliamentarians which will run within the Assembly. It aims to discuss issues of the IPU' actions on gender, implementation of the action programmes of gender-sensitive parliaments, participation and role of women in politics, and matters on violence against women.
