MPP FACTION RECEIVES REPORT FROM VICE MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A meeting of the Mongolian People's Party's (MPP) faction on Monday heard a report by Ts.Tuvaan, the Vice Minister of Industry and Agriculture. He presented a situation with a wintering worsening in some aimags and the prices boost of food products in connection with approaching Lunar New Year. The government and the Bank of Mongolia jointly granted soft-loans of MNT 780 billion to enterprisers in order to stabilize the prices of consumer goods. Some parts of the loans were allocated to the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture, for example, MNT 61 billion have been given to entities to stabilize the flour price, and MNT 81 billion--to keep the meat prices. The meeting was held openly for journalists for the first time, with a participation of the cabinet members. The Minister of Industry and Agriculture Kh.Battulga was invited but he did not attend the meeting. B.Khuder
