Moslehi: Tehran Absolutely Safe For NAM Meet

Tehran, Aug 26, IRNA – Information Minister Heidar Moslehi said Tehran enjoys full security for holding the 16th Non-Aligned Movement summit. He made the remark Sunday morning on the sideline of a ceremony in the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini on the occasion of the Government Week during which cabinet members renewed allegiance with the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic. Moslehi said despite the evil intentions of enemies, the Information Ministry has taken all necessary measures and made all needed coordination to hold the NAM meeting in an absolutely secure environment. He made the remark in response to certain hostile websites which claimed tarnishing order and security in Tehran during the NAM meeting. Moslehi described such actions as futile and fruitless and said Iran has a good experience of foiling such attempts. He said since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, anti-revolutionary groups which had lost hope and were doing anything to save themselves joined hands with their align supporters to say they still exist. The experts meeting of the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was officially started here Sunday morning with a speech by Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi. The two-day meeting will be followed with the meeting of NAM foreign ministers and the Summit is to be held on August 30-31./end
