Mongolia to cooperate with Japan in coal enriching

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and Japan have decided to cooperate in implementing projects on enriching coal, oil and producing coke coal and briquette fuel after several negotiations. At the sixth consultative joint meeting held early May, Mongolia proposed strengthening of the Mongolian infrastructure by increasing the rate of mineral resources processing, improving skills of trained staffers, and on expanding the external trade. In response, the Japanese side expressed willingness to sustainably purchase a high quality coal from Mongolia, to participate in exploiting the Tavan tolgoi coal deposit by holding specific amount of the deposit’s shares. Eventually, the two countries have reached agreements to collaborate in researching a technology of enriching coal by using sand, to co-implement the project on erecting oil refineries in Darkhan, and to seek an opportunity of constructing a factory of semi-coke briquette fuel.
