Mongolia and Germany to intensify defense cooperation
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) have agreed to boost the bilateral relations and cooperation in the defense sector especially in the peacekeeping operations and in military trainings and exercises.
The sides reached this agreement at the 10th consultative meeting between Mongolia's Ministry of Defense and the Federal Ministry of Defense on June 10 in Germany.
Mongolia was represented at this meeting by a delegation of the Defense Ministry and the General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces (GHMAF), led by Major-General Z.Boldbaatar, the Defense Ministry State Secretary. The German side was chaired at the meeting by Mr Rudiger Wolf, the State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Defense.
The parties shared views on the defense ties and cooperation which are being intensively developed in frames of the bilateral comprehensive partnership relationship. They also expressed a mutual satisfaction with joint services of Mongolian and German peacekeepers in Afghanistan since 2009.
Present at the meeting were B.Davaadorj, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Germany; Colonel D.Ariunbold, a head of the Defense Ministry's Department of External Relations; Brigadier-General J.Badambazar, a head of the Operations Management Department at the GHMAF; and Lieutenant-Colonel D.Erdenebileg, the Military Attache of the Mongolian Embassy.
Since the establishment of the military diplomatic relations twenty years ago, the ties and collaboration have been developing in the political and economic sectors, in which the defense ties are playing their role
