Minister of Industry discusses with the representative of the World Bank ways to develop the industrial sector

Baghdad (NINA) - Minister of Industry and Minerals, Ahmed Nasser Al Karbouli, discussed with the World Bank representative to Iraq, Maria Helen Baraknel, ways to develop the industrial sector in Iraq in its public, private, and mixed sectors and to strengthen its role in supporting the Iraqi economy. A statement issued by the Ministry quoted the Minister as stressing during the meeting on "the need to develop strategic and future plans to develop ministries and sectors of the state all through the development of human resources and the transfer of modern technology and keep pace with progress in the developed countries, especially after the destruction of infrastructure during the events of 2003." For her part, the representative of the World Bank pointed out to the need to register the industrial sector companies at the World Bank to work on their development in terms of training, technology transfer, and exchange of experiences and information, confirming readiness of the World Bank to provide all means of support and backing of these companies. /End/
