Mikhail Gusman: International Humanitarian Forum in Baku becomes even more authoritative platform

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 3 /Trend E. Tariverdiyeva/ The upcoming International Humanitarian Forum in Baku is becoming an even more authoritative platform for important, humanitarian issues, ITAR-TASS news official Mikhail Gusman reported to Trend on Wednesday. "There are many forums in the world, where economic, energy, political problems are discussed, however, there were no platforms where humanitarian, spiritual problems, the problem of philosophical perception of modern world and problems, appearing in the beginning of complicated XXI century could be discussed," Gusman noted. In his words, Baku has presented this initiative 2 years ago, which was very timely and actual. In Gusman's opinion, the importance of forum will only grow, which is already to be seen from the themes of plenary meetings and disputes. All the forum guests have great expectations, he said. "The humanity is expecting answers to many humanitarian issues of modern existence, and if at least part of these questions will be answered, the goal of the forum will be accomplished," Gusman stated. The forum will take place in Baku on October 4-5. Around 600 representatives from 100 countries, including over 10 Nobel laureates, 15 ex-presidents, heads of various countries' governments, ministers, well-known figures in the fields of education, science and culture, will attend the forum. The forum participants will participate in events, organized in Azerbaijani regions by central executive agencies, in meetings, organized by agencies on social and economic development of Azerbaijan. Baku declaration will be adopted following the discussions on different fields both at the plenary meetings and department meetings within the first and second days of the forum The first Baku International Humanitarian Forum under the slogan "XXI century: hopes and challenges" took place in October of 2011. The forum organizers are Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and Russian president Vladimir Putin. Baku International Humanitarian Forum is an authoritative science and political global platform to search answers for global challenges, which were faced by humanity in XXI century, the holding of a wide range of dialogues, exchanges of opinions and discussion on the most important issues of humanitarian cooperation.
