Maliki, during a meeting with members of Nineveh PC: I will not compromise Iraq’s unity

Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki said he would not compromise the unity of Iraq, calling on all Iraqis to "adhere to national unity after the great national achievement; the US troops withdrawal from the country." He stressed during a meeting with a delegation from the Nineveh Provincial Council "the importance of referring to the constitution to resolve all differences and commitment to national principles that are within the central government specialties; and they are sovereignty, security, foreign relations, and national wealth." A statement issued by Maliki's office said "the Prime Minister was briefed on the recent internal developments, in addition to the government endeavors to develop the Iraqi economy and infrastructure and provide services for the whole people." The members of the delegation expressed their support for the efforts made by the government to maintain national unity and law enforcement, confirming their rejection of anything that would disrupt Iraq’s and Iraqis’ unity, praising at the same time the great accomplishment represented by the total of US forces withdrawal from the country. /End/
