Maliki accuses “remnants of the former regime” of targeting Iraqis side by side with Qaeda

Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki accused what he called "the remnants of the former regime" of participating in all criminal acts against Iraqis side by side with Qaeda. He said during his visit today to the Martyrs Foundation "the martyrs of Iraq are from all its sects, doctrines and ethnic groups because the former regime targeted Iraqis in general, without discrimination, and everyone was in the trench of martyrdom." A statement issued by Maliki's office said the prime minister chaired a meeting comprising chairman of the Martyrs Foundation and his deputy, officials and staff and workers in the foundation, stressing "the need to merge the children of martyrs in the community, not to work on separating them through the allocation of housing or schools for them only and so on." He added "the families of the martyrs are victims, but, they should also work for the country because and to be the icon of keenness and perseverance." The Chairman of the Martyrs Foundation and members of the caretaking service board in the organization acquainted the Prime Minister on their vision of their institution, and what has been accomplished since its establishment, and their projects and proposals are that serve the martyrs’ families layer.
