Main topic of First EU-CA Economic Forum will be development of green economy - Aaliev

On Nov. 5, Bishkek will host the First European Union - Central Asia Economic Forum at the level of prime ministers, Aziz Aaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstanm told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency. At present, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Usmonali Usmonov have confirmed their participation. Also on the part of the European Union, the participation of the Vice President of the European Commission for Economic Affairs Valdis Dombrovski, a number of leaders of European countries and large international financial organizations is planned. “Within the framework of the opening of the forum, it is planned that the head of state Sadyr Zhaparov and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will participate online,” he said. In addition, the deputy chairman indicated that the main topics of this forum will be economic recovery after COVID-19, the business environment and digitalization. “Also, the forum will focus on the topic of the green economy. This is due to the fact that European countries have the most advanced and innovative technologies in terms of the use of environmentally efficient energy resources. In turn, we, as a hydropower plant with a large hydropower potential, have high hopes that we will be able to give impetus to this direction,” he said. In conclusion, Aaliev added that within the framework of the forum it is planned to attract not only European investments to the country, but also European innovative technologies.
