LEADER OF MONGOLIA ATTENDS WATER RESOURCES GROUP MEETING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj took part Thursday in a special meeting organized by the Water Resources Group at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The meeting has brought together Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations; Anders Berntell, an Executive Director, 2030 Water Resources Group at the International Finance Corporation; Hailemariam Desalegn, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia; Christiana Figueres, an Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); and other 70 policy- and decision-makers on water issues, and business delegates. The gathered discussed water problems of Mongolia, Mexico, the South Africa and India, and ran a debate on the 2030 Water Resources Group. As known, the Mongolian President Mr Elbegdorj has been focusing his attention on the water issues since he began participating in the WEF from 2009. The meeting also considered urgent problems of water facing Mongolia and its Gobi region and the UB city. The President introduced a present situation in Mongolia and emphasized an importance of collaborating with the Water Resources Group in tackling the urgent problems in his country. B.Khuder
