L.BOLD MEETS HIGH OFFICIALS IN GENEVA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign affairs L.Bold has met Dr. Supachai Panichpakti, the General secretary of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The FM has highlighted Mongolia's social and economic situation, then the sides have underlined that the "Revising Mongolia's investment policy" project's report has become an important document that intensifies an economic diversity through foreign investments and improves their possibilities and fruitfulness. L.Bold has thanked Dr. Supachai Panichpakti for an intention to present this report's draft himself to the Mongolian Government next month. Dr. Panichpakti has said that it was interesting to research Mongolia's investment policy. Then the sides have touched upon several matters concerning landlocked countries, a dependence on raw materials, economic specialization, bio-trading and others. xxxxxxx Mr Bold also has met with Ms Kristel Van der Elst, the Head of Strategic Foresight, World Economic Forum /WEF/ in Geneva. They have shared views on implementing a project "Mongolia's development perspectives" and on organizing in its frames an event "WEF and Mongolia's strategic talks" this September. All this is related to the 2014 World Economic Forum's annual meeting that will discuss Mongolia's development and its trends. Ms Van der Elst has said a team of Strategic Foresight will work in Mongolia during the Mongolia's Economic forum which will run this March 4-5. The team intends o meet with politicians, businessman and the media in order to listen their opinions on Mongolia's present and future development and to use the information and research work as a basis of related report. L.Bold has said the cooperation between the two sides have been strengthening, reaching a partnership level, and has noted that Mongolia's Government is giving an importance to discussing Mongolia's development issues at the WEF's annual meeting in 2014. He also expressed a readiness to support an implementation of the "Mongolia's development perspectives". Ch.Enkhtuya
