Kyrgyzstan will continue issuing student visas to citizens of Afghanistan: FM

Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2021 . / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in the Italy and Central Asia Second Ministerial Conference held in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city on Wednesday, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said. Participants of the ministerial meeting expressed common concern over the regional implications of the situation in Afghanistan. The importance of expanding joint cooperation in providing humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan was noted. Minister Kazakbaev emphasized the expediency of constructive dialogue and interaction with the new authorities of Afghanistan to ensure peace and stability in the country. He also informed that the Kyrgyz side was one of the first to deliver humanitarian aid to the multi-ethnic people of Afghanistan, as well as ethnic Kyrgyz living in the Little and Great Afghan Pamir region. It was also announced that the Kyrgyz Government has decided to continue issuing student visas for Afghan nationals. At the end of the ministerial meeting, participants noted the promise and importance of the Italy-Central Asia format for maintaining an ongoing dialogue between the countries on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
