Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia debate projects for reconstruction of roads

Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Osoyev met with a delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development headed by Director General for Asia Operations Saud Alshammari. The press service of the Transport Ministry reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed the current and planned investment projects on reconstruction of roads. In addition, the Saudi Fund for Development requested a list of prospective projects for the reconstruction of roads. Currently, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan is implementing road reconstruction projects worth USD 45 million with the funds of the Saudi Fund for Development: - Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart, 272-365 km ($15 million); - Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz, Phase 3, 75-105 km ($10 million); - North-South Alternative Highway, Phase 3, 159-183 km ($20 million). In addition, the Saudi Fund for Development in the Arab Coordination Group allocated USD 35 million for the implementation of the project of reconstruction of the Issyk-Kul ring road, 104-184,4 km (Korumdu village - Balbai-Baatyr village).
