Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia debate bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Kyrgyz Republic Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Juma. According to the Foreign Ministry’s press service, the ambassador congratulated Kazakbaev on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success. "At the same time, Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Juma voiced the official position of the Kingdom on the political processes and reforms taking place in the Kyrgyz Republic, wishing successful presidential elections in January 2021," the report reads. In his turn, Kazakbaev assured the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Government's commitment to fulfill its earlier obligations to Saudi Arabia and interest in the implementation of previously reached agreements. "In addition, topical issues of Kyrgyz-Saudi cooperation and prospects for its development were raised, including exchanges of visits by foreign ministers of the two countries, holding inter-ministerial political consultations, intensification of inter-agency cooperation, etc.," the ministry added. Ruslan Kazakbaev welcomed intentions of Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan to visit Kyrgyzstan in 2021. In particular, the parties emphasized the importance of attracting investment, implementation of major investment projects, strengthening ties between business circles of the two countries. FM Kazakbayev also drew the ambassador's attention to the importance of attracting financial assistance for the construction of general education schools and hospitals with broad specialization, especially in the high mountainous regions of the country.
