Kyrgyzstan to receive wheat from China’s Xinjiang as humanitarian aid

Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation and the progress in implementing the previously reached agreements between Kyrgyzstan and China was discussed. The sides also discussed the relevant issues of organizing a meeting of the Council of the Heads of the SCO Member States (September 16-17 this year, Dushanbe). Particular attention was paid to the joint fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Ambassador Du Dewen informed about the decision of the Government of China’s Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region to provide humanitarian aid to the Kyrgyz Republic in the form of 1,500 tons of wheat, as well as personal protective equipment to combat COVID-19. In this context, Kazakbaev expressed gratitude for the constant support of Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19 and for the decision to provide Kyrgyzstan with another batch of humanitarian aid. The sides expressed their readiness to continue active practical interaction at all levels to further strengthen bilateral relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China.
