Kyrgyzstan, Finland discuss bilateral cooperation issues

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Bardinova met with Ambassador of Finland to the Kyrgyz Republic Soili Mäkeläinen-Buhanist. In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry’s press service said. "In particular, the sides noted the importance of intensifying bilateral political cooperation, holding inter-ministerial consultations, organization of mutual visits at high and highest level," the report said. In addition, opportunities to further intensify trade and economic cooperation and interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and Finland within the international organizations were considered. State Secretary Bardinova invited the Finnish delegation to participate in the First European Union – Central Asia Forum, which will be held in October 2021 in Bishkek. The meeting also raised the possibility of organizing a Kyrgyz-Finnish Business Forum, attracting investment by Finnish companies in the economy of Kyrgyzstan, cooperation in view of the GSP+ status of Kyrgyzstan, the prospects for cooperation in the field of "green economy". At the end of the meeting, Soili Mäkeläinen-Buhanist presented Nurzhan Bardinova with copies of her credentials.
