Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and German Ambassador discuss expanding bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, July 20, 2018 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov met on Thursday with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kyrgyz Republic M. Iversen. During the meeting, Pankratov said that the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to further strengthening and expanding cooperation with Germany. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the sides discussed the current status of bilateral cooperation, the opportunities for their expansion and revitalization, as well as the issues of providing comprehensive assistance in implementing the agreements reached during the recent regular Kyrgyz-German intergovernmental negotiations on financial and technical cooperation that took place July 3-4, 2017 in Bonn (Germany). The Kyrgyz Minister expressed gratitude to the Federal Government of Germany for constant and tangible support to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of financial and technical assistance and in this regard, the sides agreed to make efforts to accelerate the resolution of issues related to the signing of the Agreements on financial and technical cooperation for 2017-2018. Also during the meeting, the prospective directions of trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed. The sides discussed the possibility of using the status of the GSP + by Kyrgyzstan, as a trading tool for development and cooperation in this direction. As a result, Iversen expressed her gratitude to Pankratov for the opportunity to meet. Participants of the meeting expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
