Kyrgyz, Latvian FMs discuss implementation of projects on admission of Afghan students in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held on Wednesday a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting of the foreign ministers took place on the margins of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the topical issues of bilateral cooperation with a focus on deepening the political dialogue through mutual visits, as well as through regular inter-medium political consultations and participation of Latvian high delegation and business representatives in the First EU-CA Economic Forum in Bishkek on Nov. 5, 2021.
Kazakbaev and Rinkevics stressed the need to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.
They also considered specific issues on expanding the bilateral legal framework and development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Latvia separately considered the situation in Afghanistan and the implementation of joint projects on the admission of Afghan students in Kyrgyzstan.
The sides expressed intention to support each other's initiatives at various international platforms.
