Kyrgyz FM takes part in Central Asia + Japan Dialogue

Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2020 / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov took part in an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the countries participated in online meeting of Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. Under the chairmanship of Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi, practical issues of cooperation during the coronavirus pandemic in the regional dimension, as well as between the countries of Central Asia and Japan, were discussed in detail. The heads of the foreign ministries noted the particular importance of joining efforts in overcoming the negative economic consequences resulting from the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, as well as sharing experience and recommendations on taking effective measures to protect public health between healthcare institutions in the fight against COVID-19. In the light of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries of Central Asia and Japan in 2022, a thorough exchange of views took place on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, as well as the prospects for further cooperation within the framework of the development of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue. In his speech, Aidarbekov proposed to pay special attention to human development, emphasizing the relevance of training highly qualified medical personnel through participation in exchange programs and refresher courses. He also noted the need to continue joint efforts to implement specific high-quality infrastructure, engineering and protective, road transport, agricultural projects, as well as initiatives in the field of logistics, IT technologies, environmental protection and education.
