Kyrgyz FM meets with US assistant secretary in Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2021. / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan held a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and Senior Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs Eric Green, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. At the beginning of the meeting, the Kyrgyz minister congratulated Donald Lu on his appointment to a high position. During the meeting, the results of the ministerial meeting in the "C5 + 1" format, as well as other topical issues of bilateral relations and the regional agenda were discussed. The American side announced its readiness to additionally provide Kyrgyzstan with vaccines against COVID-19, as well as further cooperation in various areas, including the further strengthening of democratic institutions. The work carried out by the parties on the admission of Afghan students to Kyrgyzstan was stated in a positive way, the Kyrgyz side noted the priority of admitting women students. An agreement was reached to maintain close contact to jointly work out mutually beneficial projects, especially in the trade and economic sphere.
