Kyrgyz FM meets with CCTS Secretary Baghdad Amreev

Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Secretary General of the Turkic Council (Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States / CCTS) Baghdad Amreev, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. During the meeting, the prospects for the development of the Turkic Council in the near future and activities planned within the framework of this international organization in the current year were discussed. The minister spoke about the internal political situation, important political processes in the country and thanked the Turkic Council for the comprehensive support of Kyrgyzstan. Kazakbaev highly appreciated the active multifaceted activities of the CCTS to strengthen brotherhood and unity between the Turkic-speaking states. The CCTS Secretary General informed about the measures being taken by the Secretariat together with the WHO Regional Office for Europe to assist member and observer states in countering the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, Baghdad Amreev handed over to the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic the draft document "Vision of the Turkic World - 2040" and the Strategy of the Turkic Council for 2020-2025, which is intended to become a roadmap for the development of CCTS for the next two decades, reflecting the priority areas of cooperation. At the same time, the sides exchanged views on topical issues on the agenda of the Turkic Council and expressed mutual interest in further deepening cooperation of Kyrgyzstan within the CCTS.
