Kyrgyz FM and Tajik ambassador exchange views on topical issues of cooperation

Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev met with Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Nazirmad Alizod on Oct. 15. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported that the Tajik ambassador congratulated Kazakbayev on his appointment as the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also conveyed warm congratulations of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin. During the conversation, Kazakbayev informed the interlocutor about the internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan and noted that at present the situation in the country has stabilized, the ongoing political processes have returned to the legal field, the legitimacy of all branches of state power of the Kyrgyz Republic has been created and its executive bodies continue to work in the regular mode. They also exchanged views on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation and outlined prospects for further interaction. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as taking measures necessary to maintain good-neighborliness and stability in the border areas of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The sides agreed that it is necessary to continue constructive negotiations of the working groups of the Government delegations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in order to further describe the remaining sections of the state border.
