Kyrgyz Deputy FM and head of UNODC discuss implementation of current projects in country

Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2021 / Kabar /. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliev received head of the Program Office of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in the Kyrgyz Republic Andrei Seleznev. According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the interlocutors discussed the implementation of the current UNODC projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as possible areas for further cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime. During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNODC within the framework of medium-term programs - the UNODC Program for Central Asian states and the Regional Program for Afghanistan and neighboring countries - were also considered. In particular, special attention was paid to the development and adoption of a new UNODC Program for the Central Asian states, taking into account the country's national priorities, identified during the consultations and the meeting of the Program Steering Committee.
