Kh.Battulga: US becomes fifth nation to maintain Strategic Partnership with Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the framework of his visit to the USA, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga met with some senators and representatives of the administrative divisions of the USA at the Library of Congress. The Mongolian President started off the meeting by expressing his satisfaction with the USA becoming the fifth nation to reach a level of Strategic Partnership with Mongolia.
“President Donald Trump and I have held a meeting that lasted two-hour long. One of the important points discussed there was about pragmatic solutions and ways for an actual improvement of economic relations between Mongolia and the US based on our Strategic Partnership” he said. “Mongolia views the US as its important trade partner and investor and pursuing mutually beneficial collaboration for the two countries’ economy and investment, financial and trade fields is fully possible. We both agree that the level of our economic cooperation remains unsatisfactory”.
Bringing to attention a relatively small share of the US in Mongolia’s foreign trade turnover, which is 1.7 percent, the sides talked about opportunities and conditions for economic, investment, financial and trade cooperation between Mongolia and the US.
After the meeting, President Kh.Battulga visited the Asian Division of the Library of Congress, the world's largest library, collections of which include more than 39 million catalogued books and other print materials in 470 languages and 3.6 million sound recordings. The Mongolian Collection at the Library’s Asian Reading Room consists of approximately 10,350 monographs, 170 serial titles and 600 volumes of rare books.
