Jeenbekov and Belyaninov discuss projects implemented by EDB in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek July 5, 2018 / Kabar /. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Chairman to the Board of Eurasian Development Bank Andrei Belyaninov. They discussed projects implemented by the EDB to improve road and transport infrastructure, increase energy security, industrial development, as well as major medium-term plans. Jeenbekov stressed the positive experience of the joint work of Kyrgyzstan and the Eurasian Development Bank since the establishment of cooperation and expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support in financing of significant investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, especially in strengthening energy security. "The EDB contribution in the matter of financing large investment projects in the Kyrgyz Republic is tangible. At the same time, we have a number of planned projects that are of strategic importance for the economy of our country. We are ready to work with the EDB in all these areas, "Jeenbekov said. He stressed the need to strengthen the integration of the economy of Kyrgyzstan into the EEU and to increase the role of the EDB in this process. Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank Andrei Belyaninov voiced readiness for comprehensive assistance in implementing projects of strategic importance for Kyrgyzstan. "We are ready together with the government of Kyrgyzstan to discuss and approve the program of bilateral cooperation. In our priorities, work with the national currency and apply it to investment projects in the framework of integration. This is aimed at protecting the interests of entrepreneurs in conditions of market volatility, "said Belyaninov. He also informed that the EDB is interested in implementing projects in the field of energy development and construction of transport infrastructure. Following the discussion, the Head of State expressed his confidence in further fruitful cooperation and the desire to expand the scope of EDB's investment activities in the priority sectors of the economy for Kyrgyzstan by increasing the volume of the loan portfolio, including through the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund and commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan.
