Japan Concerned over Turkey's Offensive in Syria: Suga

Tokyo, Oct. 10 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga on Thursday expressed concerns over full-fledged military operations launched by Turkey in northern Syria the previous day. "We're worried that the further rise in military tensions will make it even more difficult to resolve the Syrian crisis and further worsen the humanitarian conditions there," the top government spokesman told a press conference. "The Syrian crisis cannot be solved with military measures," he said. Suga expressed hope that all parties involved will play constructive roles in improving the humanitarian situation in the Middle East country and facilitating the political process led by the United Nations.
