Iraq's Permanent Representative In The UN To Chair The Meeting Of OIC

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - The Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr al-Uloum, chaired the OIC meeting at the ambassadorial level at the UN headquarters in New York. The Foreign Ministry statement said "A number of issues were discussed during the meeting, including the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the transfer of the US embassy to the holy city of Quds (Jerusalem) and the implementation of the General Assembly resolution to end the suffering of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar,". The draft resolution, which the OIC countries intend to present to the General Assembly, which would strengthen the status of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the United Nations, was also discussed."/ End
