Iran's president to visit Evin prison

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 4 /Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/ Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will soon visit country's Evin prison, ILNA reported. Ahmadinejad will supposedly visit the whole prison, block by block, sector by sector. The exact date of president's visit to Evin prison is yet unknown. Iran's government and Judiciary have earlier agreed to devote more sources on improving prison conditions, and raised awareness of prison inmates' problems. In June, Ahmadinejad's media advisor, the director of the state news agency IRNA, Ali Akbar Javanfekr was sent to Evin prison. Javanfekr was charged with publishing material contrary to Islamic norms and human values in a special issue of Khatun. He was also accused of insults of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
