Iran Urges Iraq To Provide Security Of Its Tanker Drivers: MP

Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah Prov, July 20, IRNA - A parliamentarian said here on Sunday that the Iraqi government must ensure safety of Iranian tanker drivers and nationals in that country. Talking to IRNA, a member of Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Fathollah Hosseini said Iran attaches great importance to the safety of the Iranian tanker drivers and its nationals residing in Iraq. Given that the Iraqi side has not undertaken responsibility for providing security for the Iranian nationals, he said the fuel transit is banned through Parviz Khan border crossing in this western city until further notice. He added the fuel tankers will resume their transit operations as soon as the Iraqi side assumes responsibility for providing security of the Iranian nationals residing in the country./end
