Iran Urges Azeri Gov't To Stop Anti-Iran Operation Of Mossad

Tehran, Feb 13, IRNA - Iran on Sunday called on the Azeri government to stop anti-Iran operations of Mossad espionage networks in Azerbaijan territory. The demand was conveyed to Azeri Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov when he was summoned to the Foreign Ministry. 'Following the movements of the terrorists involved in assassination of Iranian scientists in Azerbaijan republic and the facilities provided to them to go to Tel Aviv in collaboration with Mossad spy networks, Azeri Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov was summoned to Foreign Ministry to hear protest of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Azeri government,' Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The Foreign Ministry director general for the Commonwealth of Independent States and Caucasus delivered a letter of protest calling on the Azeri government to stop anti-Iran operations of Mossad spy networks in Azeri territory. Akhundov said that he would convey Iran's protest to the Azeri government and would bring a reply to the letter. In the meantime, the Foreign Ministry protested to the Azeri government over inappropriate behavior of Azeri officials towards representatives of Iranian institutions in Azerbaijan, systematic anti-Iran propaganda in Azeri media and stopping Iranian trucks traveling on Astara-Baku highway, calling for an end to such unfriendly behavior towards Iran./end
