Iran, Iraq swap remains of soldiers

Khorramshahr, Khuzestan prov, Nov 30, IRNA - Iranian and Iraqi officials on Sunday swapped the bodies of wartime victims.

Some 41 Iranian martyrs of US-backed Iraqi imposed war (1980-1988)
were delivered to Iran in exchange of 200 bodies of Iraqi soldiers.

Coffins of the Iranian martyr were wrapped in the Iranian flag.

The swap took place in Shalamcheh border point in the presence of
Iranian officials and the people of Khorramshahr.

Shalamcheh is a town in Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran, suited
on the border with Iraq's southern province of Basra.

Iran's Red Crescent Society and Iraqi Deputy Human Rights Ministry
reached a mutual agreement on investigating bodies of Iran-Iraq war
victims and deliver them to their own countries.

Out of the total 200 Iraqi bodies, 24 were identified and will be
delivered to their families.
