Iran condemns US military attack on Syrians

Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the US military's ongoing aggression against the Syrians and infrastructures as a violation of its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Referring to the current US military aggression against the Syrians, Kanaani called such aggressions as an act of terrorism against popular groups and fighters opposed to the occupation and denied any affiliation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The continued presence of the US troops in parts of Syria is contrary to international law and violates its national sovereignty and is considered an occupation, and accordingly, it should immediately leave Syria and end the plundering of its oil and grain wealth, he reiterated. Describing the counterterrorism claim as merely an excuse to continue the occupation, Kanaani underscored that the US officials' confession about creating ISIS by the US has not yet been erased from public opinion in the region.
