Int'l bus attacked in Kazakhstan

An international bus was attacked in the Zhambyl region in Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Express K newspaper has reported.
"The passengers en route from Shymkent to Urumqi were the victims of six robberies. Two drivers were wounded. Money, jewelry and mobile phones of the passengers were stolen," the publication said.
As stated in the article, the bust stopped at the request of one of the passengers, who allegedly became ill at the edge of the village Kokkaynar of Shu area near an abandoned gas station NarOyl at 2 a.m. on October 9. Drivers who tried to resist, received gunshot wounds. Six armed men in masks attacked the bus at the same moment. There were 16 passengers in the bus during the attack. The robbers stole about 3.5 million tenge, gold products and mobile phones from them.
Both drivers are taken to the central district hospital of Kordai village. None of the passengers was injured.
A criminal case under article "robbery, committed in order to steal the property on a large scale" has been filed. It is assumed that the crime was committed by previously convicted individuals.
