INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION MEETING OF MONGOLIA AND FINLAND HELD

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 13th meeting of Intergovernmental Commission between Mongolia and Finland on economic, scientific, technological and social protection cooperation was held in Helsinki on September 7. The meeting was chaired by S.Mungunchimeg, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Mongolia, and by Markku Keinanen, Under-Secretary of State, External Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. To ensure bilateral cooperation, economic growth and sustainable development, the parties agreed to cooperate, exchange experiences and expand collaboration between organizations in education, sustainable environment, mining, forestry, renewable energy sectors and equal and accessible services for the elderly and disabled people. Moreover, it was agreed to study opportunities to participate in the Smart Energy program of Finland, introduce green technology of Finland into Mongolia with a purpose to reduce urban environmental pollution and solve sanitation issues. As a conclusion of the intergovernmental meeting, the heads of two working groups signed the protocol. B.Misheel
