Income disparity between richest and poorest countries increase dramatically in recent years, says President Gul

ISTANBUL (A.A) - December 7, 2011 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Wednesday that income disparity between the richest and poorest countries had increased dramatically in recent years. Delivering the opening remarks at the Turkish Innovation Conference in Istanbul, President Gul said that the income disparity between the richest and poorest countries occurred due to industrialization and innovation since the beginning of the 19th century. I believe that we need to speed up our efforts to overcome the losses incurred for long years. In order to eradicate regional imbalances and facilitate justice in income distribution, we need to pay high attention to research, development and innovation, Gul stressed.
