HAIC to take action against offensive channels

Manama, Apr. 24. (BNA) – Following media reports about some offensive channels, the High Authority for Information and Communication (HAIC) has recommended stopping the broadcasting of those satellite channels based in Bahrain due to their violation of the kingdom's laws in the stories covered, and failure to be committed to the sovereignty and legal norms. The panel also recommended the immediate setting up of high investigation committee to inquire into the licences granted to those channels and determine whether they were given according to the national legal regulations.
