Georgian president ready for intensive cooperation with majority

Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov. 14 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
The Georgian president is prepared for intensive cooperation with the ruling majority, especially in foreign policy and defense.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili told media in Brussels today.
"We want this progress to continue," he said. "It is wrong to get rid of certain people on the pretext that they were appointed by someone else."
He stressed that he had received an invitation to Brussels a month ago, and as far as he knows Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili decided to come to Brussels later.
"Of course, this must not be the subject of confrontation," he said. "We must speak the same language and to do one thing. If we say that we want closer relations with the EU and NATO, we must not argue with each other on these issues. We must create a single front for Georgia to be mentioned in a positive way abroad.
The Georgian President in Brussels attended the dinner given on behalf of the EU institutions. He addressed the audience and spoke about the situation in Georgia.
Saakashvili said that Georgia has made significant progress towards integration into the EU and made important actions in formalizing an agreement on free trade and visa-free regime with the EU.
The Georgian President today continues holding meetings in Brussels. He is planned to deliver speech at the Carnegie Center.
