Georgian president pardons 168 prisoners

Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 28 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili pardoned 168 prisoners on the Day of the Assumption of the Virgin, Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze said at a briefing today. She said that all 168 prisoners will leave prison today. Among those pardoned are a few women, but no minors. "None of those pardoned committed a heinous crime," the minister said.
