Georgian parliament speaker invites German MPs to observe upcoming elections

Georgia, Tbilisi, May 8 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia / A wide range of Georgian-German relations and the situation in Georgia became the main topic of discussions at a meeting of Georgian Parliament's Chairman David Bakradze at the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Bundestag in Berlin. According to the Georgian Parliament, members of the Georgian delegation led by Bakradze met with Committee Chairman Ruprecht Polenz and members of the committee. The parties discussed constitutional amendments in Georgia, as well as the situation in the occupied territories - Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Bakradze provided detailed information about the pre-election situation in the country. He officially invited the German MPs to observe parliamentary elections scheduled for autumn 2012. In turn, Polenz stressed the importance of bilateral relations and said Germany recognizes the territorial integrity of Georgia and does not recognize the processes in the occupied territories.
